With Cavalo Blues, Jeely allows these simple, often compelling pieces, to be fully exposed; in contrast, past works like Summerland, and alter-ego Accelera Deck Ipsissima Vox often find themselves playing with synthetic sounds to a much higher degree.

There are some carefully chosen moments where Cavalo Blues deftly splashes shimmering digital color across the acoustic canvases . . . and the electronics are beautiful, not out of place in the least.

Flashes of electronic texture or not, it is the consistently sincere and emotional sensibility of Jeely's performances that truly carry the work.
