static signals exists to seek and explore new and unusual modern musics and media and to freely promote the artists who create them

genre and classification is a crude and incomplete way to identify most music, but it is sometimes valuable as simple points of reference . . . static signals transmits unusual, industrial, noise, electronic, experimental and modern classical musics and media . . . music and art that falls between the cracks of accepted pigeonholes

why?  

the advent of technology and the accessibility of tools and instruments has allowed art and information to be created and distributed as never before . . . the web allows artists and musicians to share their work instantaneously with others

so many times i have walked into a record store and poured over cds looking for something anything that might stimulate, expand my mind or trigger a new emotion or make me remember things i had refused to acknowledge

i began static signals as way to find the best of what's out there and share what i have found with others

find new music reviews and features each month on this site
maybe something you find will touch, hurt or inspire you

static signals also serves as a launch pad for projects i am personally involved with, and exists to provide the opportunity for me to share my own work with others
